Hello Guest,

 

the solution is:

 

\(8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1=(8+1)*(8:2)=36 \mbox { possibilities}\) and that's also by three-, four-, five-, six-,...- digit numbers.

From reading through the question it looks difficult but has a simple solution.
