4/2 = 2/1 = 2

The scale factor of the similar figures is  2:1 (B)

 

2. The square has area of 144 cm^2, meaning that it has side length 12. This means that the diameter of the circle is 12, so the radius is 6

The formula for the area of a circle is πr^2. 

Area = π36, or 36π cm^2 (E)
