[(3x^3) / (x+3)]  -  [4 / (x+3)], OR,

3x^2 - 9x - [85/(x+3)] + 27, OR,

3 x^3-4 = (3x^2 - 9x + 27) × (x+3)+-85 [Quotient and Remainder]

We need to use polynomial long division here, Katie-Leigh

              3x^2   - 9x    +  27

x + 3    [  3x^3  + 0x^2  +  0x   -  4   ]

               3x^3  + 9x^2

              ______________________

                           -9x^2   + 0x

                           -9x^2  - 27x

                           -----------------

                                        27x - 4

                                        27x + 81

                                        ------------

                                               -85

So the result   is     [ 3x^2 - 9x + 27]  R  -85/(x + 3)

cool cool cool
