if the circumference of the circle is 522 millimeters, what is the diameter?

Instead of most cases where you are given the radius to find the circle's circumference and area, you have to work backwords when given the ciircumference. If the circumference of a circle is the radius times two, the diameter, mutiplied by pi, ~3.14. 

  1. If the circles circumference 522 millimeters and you need to find the diameter then divide 522 mm by π. 
  2. This will approximately equal 166.157760588 mm or more accurately 522/π mm.
  • This works as the formula to equal the circumference of any circle is Circumference=(Radius*2)*π. Dividing by π would leave you with Circumference/π=diameter. Due to the (Radius*2) is equal to the diameter, there was no need to find the radius in this prombelm.
