domain restriction help

y  = ( x + 6)^2   -  2      add 2 to both sides

y + 2  =  ( x + 6)^2       take  the positive root

√ [y  + 2] =  x  +  6        subtract 6 from both sides

√[ y + 2]  -  6  = x           "swap"   x and y

√[x + 2]  - 6  = y        [this is the inverse ]

The domain of the inverse  is   [-2, infinity )
