First one......

a^2  =  45

a  = √45

a  =  3√5

2a   =  length of  major axis  =   6√5

b^2  =  27

b  =√27

b =  3√3

2b  =  length of minor axis  = 6√3

Good job, Jenny   !!!

The tranverse axis contains the two foci and two vertices

Thus.....this hyperbola  intersects the x axis

So....the form will be

(x - h)^2            (y  - k)^2

_______  -       ________   =       1

    a^2                    b^2

(h, k)  =  (-3, 2)

2a  = 12            2b  = 8

a  =  6                 b  = 4

So we have

(x  + 3)^2         ( y - 2 )^2

________  -   _________    =      1

    36                   16
