In order to solve this problem, you must understand exactly what it is asking you to do.
If you have a quantity of something, in this case 8 erasers, and they cost a certain amount, in this case 60 cents (or .6), then in order to find what it costs for just one of the items, you simply divide the cost, .6, by the the quantity, 8.
.6/8 = 0.075. So in this case, each eraser cost 7.5 cents.
