A line segment has endpoints at (8, 3) and (2,5). What would be the equation of this line's perpendicular bisector?

Midpoint: (5, 4)

Slope: -1/3

 

Bisector: y = 3x+b

Substitute x=5, y=4

4 = 15+b

b = -11

 

Answer: y = 3x-11
