It's important that you not ask for the answer to a question, but rather the method by which to solve it. I teach students to do reverse PEMDAS. If your goal is to get c alone, first move everything outside parenthesis to the other side of the equation, then move all added or subtracted numbers to the other side, then use division or multiplication to separate c from whatever number will be multiplying it. 3C + 1 = 4

3C = 4-1

3C =3

C=1
