Here are a few questions I am having trouble with on my 10th Grade, Algebra 1 test:

#1... Solve the Equation: 3x - 8 = -3x + 4.

#2... You are designing a web page for your school's biology club. You want to include photos of the members on the page, which has a width of 640 pixels. You've decided that the left and right margins should be 24 pixels each and the space between each picture should be 16 pixels. How wide can each picture be to fit four across the width of the page?

#3... Solve the Equation. Round the result to the nearest hundredth.
1.5x + 7.4 = -1.8x - 6.9

#4... Solve the Equation. Round the result to the nearest hundredth.
14.1 - 0.3x = 1.3x - 4.2

#5... Multiply the equation by a power of 10 to write an equivalent equation with integer
coefficients.
6.2x + 4.5 = 3.8x + 7.9

#6... Multiply the equation by a power of 10 to write an equivalent equation with integer
coefficients. (Note: I have already multiplied the numbers by 10.)
4.603y - 1.842 = -3.651y

#7... Given the simple interest formula, I = Prt, solve for t.

I hope some of you can help me with these. Thanks.

[input]3x - 8 = -3x + 4[/input]
3x - 8 = -3x + 4
+3x
3x - 8 +3x = -3x + 4 +3x
3x+3x - 8 = -3x+3x + 4
6x - 8 = 0x + 4
6x - 8 = 4
+8
6x - 8+8 = 4+8
6x -0 = 12
6x = 12
/6
6x/6 = 12/6
x = 2

Also, the note where it says I had already multiplied the numbers by 10, is wrong. I meant to delete that line, but forgot. I did not multiply those numbers by 10. Also, thank you admin for explaining that question!
