You can do this 2 ways

(m-2) ²
=(m-2)(m-2)
=m(m-2) - 2(m-2)
etc

OR
you need to learn quite quickly that
[size=150](a+b) ² = a ² + 2ab + b ²[/size]

so
(m-2) ²
= m ² + 2*m*(-2) + (-2) ²
= m ² - 4m + 4
