How do i calculate 4^(3/2)

An exponent of '3/2' means that you need to cube the number and find the square root of that answer,

or, you can do it in the opposite order: you can find the square root of the number and cube that answer.

 

43/2  =  sqrt(43)  =  sqrt(64)  =  8

 

43/2  = [ sqrt(4) ]3  =  [2]3  =  8
