Exponentials

An exponent of '3/2' means that you need to cube the number and find the square root of that answer,

or, you can do it in the opposite order: you can find the square root of the number and cube that answer.

 

4^3/2  =  sqrt(4³)  =  sqrt(64)  =  8

 

4^3/2  = [ sqrt(4) ]³  =  [2]³  =  8
