f(x)=-16t^2+80t-54
I need help anybody can u please help me i am stuck on this question.
I have to find the maximum point and have to whow my work. (this is algebra 1-2)
f(x)=-16t^2+80t-54
The max value for t is given by -b/2a = -80 / [2(-16)] = -80/-32 = 2.5 seconds
And the max height can be found by subbing 2.5 back into the function.....
So we have :
-16(2.5)^2 + 80(2.5) - 54 = 46 ft
As an alternative.....the max height can also be found thusly:
c - b^2 / [4a] = -54 - [80]^2 / [ 4(-16)] = -54 + [6400/64] = -54 + 100 = 46 ft
