f(x)=-16t^2+80t-54

I need help anybody can u please help me i am stuck on this question. 

I have to find the maximum point and have to whow my work. (this is algebra 1-2)

f(x)=-16t^2+80t-54

 

The max value for t is given by   -b/2a  =  -80 / [2(-16)]  = -80/-32  = 2.5 seconds

 

And the max height can be found by subbing 2.5 back into the function.....

 

So we have  :

 

-16(2.5)^2 + 80(2.5) - 54   =  46 ft

 

As an alternative.....the max height can also be found thusly:

 

c - b^2 / [4a]     =  -54 - [80]^2 / [ 4(-16)]  =  -54 + [6400/64]  = -54 + 100  = 46 ft
