The expression can't be factored. 

Unless,

x^5+x^4+1=0 

If it was like that, then we can factor it.

first subtract 1 

x^5+x^4=-1

Now factor x^4

which is: 

x^4(x+1)=-1

also equals

0=\(x^4(x+1)+1\)
