Notice that

2 - 5 + 8 - 11 + 14 - 17 +.........+92 - 95 + 98 -101 =

-3 + -3 + -3 + ........... + -3 + -3

And the number of terms is = (101 + 1)/ 3 = 34

So .....there are 17 pairs of terms and each pair sums to -3, we have 17 * -3 = -51 = A
