You need to use de distance formula. 

Distance Formula: Given the two points (x1y1) and (x2y2), the distance between these points is given by the formula:  d=√(x2-x1)²+(y2-y1)²

so it would be √(-1-(-3))²+(2-1)²

d=√(-1+3)²+(1)²

d=√(2)²+1

d=√4+1

d=√5   that is the exact answer because 5 is not a perfect sqaure. you would get 2.2360679775
