f(g(x))...we basically input whatever g(x) is into any x in f(x)

f(x^2) = 3x^2.

g(f(x))...we basically input whatever f(x) is into any x in g(x)

g(3x) = (3x)^2 = 9x^2.

 

74) f(x)=3x^2+2, g(x)=2x

f(g(x)) = f(2x) = 3[(2x)^2]+2 = 3(4x^2)+2 = 12x^2 + 2.

g(f(x)) = g(3x^2+2) = 2(3x^2+2) = 6x^2+4.
