Find the angle of elevation of sun from the ground to the top of a tree when a tree that is 10 yards tall casts a shadow 14 yards long. Round to the nearest degree
Ok....we know an opposite side - 10 - and an adjacent side -14. We can find the angle of elevation - Θ - with the tangent inverse....so we have
tan-1(10/14) = Θ = about 35.54° = 36°
