radius is 12 mm = 1.2 cm :) 

A=πr^2

=3.14 x (1.2 cm)^2 

4.52 cm^2

So....12mm  =   1.2 cm

 

So the area is

 

A = pi* (1.2cm)^2  = 

 

pi * 1.44 cm^2   = 

 

about   4.52 cm^2
