In the form ax2 + bx + c = 0
The discriminant is
b^2 - 4ac
So....for
x^2 + 2x + 3 = 0 a = 1 b = 2 and c = 3
So.....the discriminant is
(2)^2 - 4(1)(3) =
4 - 12 =
-8

Oh no... these are not questions! I'm just simply showing my work after getting the discriminant for problem number 86 and 87. As you see I follow the steps and got the right answer. Just wanted for you to know.
