Equation one:

Slope = Diff(x^2 - 3x + 5) = 2x - 3 = 2(2) - 3 = 1 because x = 2, y = 3.

To meet the graph of the function, the constant term must be 1 because in a normal y = x graph, if x = 2, y = 2 so you have to add 1 to make is x = 2, y = 3.

 

Equation of the tangent is y = x + 1.
