Find the product of all x such that the expression \(\frac{x^2+2x+1}{x^2+2x-3}\) is undefined.

I am not sure how to solve this without using the tedious process of trial and error. Thanks.

The expression can be written as \(\frac{(x+1)^2}{(x-1)(x+3)}\)    which is undefined when the denominator is zero.

This occurs when x = 1 and x = -3, so the product is -3.
