Let me take a crack at this.

First, bring the one down.

 

Then, -3*1=-3, so it goes underneath the -13.

 

Add, -13+(-3)=-16

 

So, -3*-16=48

 

Finally, -48+48=0

x-16, (A). I don't know if I'm correct, though.
