Did you mean for the second equation to be:  -10 - 7y  =  -24

                                                              --->                  - 7y  =  -14

                                                                                           y  =  2

Then:  -3x - 7y  =  -66

          -3x -7(2)  =  -66

            -3x - 14  =  -66

                   -3x  =  -52

                       x  =  17 1/3
