Find the vertex of the graph of the equation \(y = -2x^2 + 8x - 15.\)
Find the 'x' value of the vertex = - b/(2a) a = -2 b = 8
plug this value in to find the 'y' value
y = -2x^2 + 8x - 15
x coordinate of vertex = -8 / [ 2 * -2] = -8/ -4 = 2
y cordinate of the vertex = -2(2)^2 + 8(2) - 15 = - 8 + 16 - 15 = -7
So vertex = ( 2, -7)
