Sin(15) = 0.2588190
Tan =0.2588190 / sqrt(1 - 0.2588190^2)
Tan =0.2588190 / sqrt(1 - 0.0669873)
Tan =0.2588190 / 0.9659258
Tan =0.267949...
what is the value of sin 15
Note that \(\cos(30°)=\frac{\sqrt3}{2}\)
Also \(\cos(30)=1-2\sin^2(15)\) so \(\sin(15)=\sqrt{\frac{1-\cos(30)}{2}} \rightarrow \sqrt{\frac{1-\sqrt3/2}{2}} \rightarrow \frac{1}{2}\sqrt{2-\sqrt{3}}\)
Can also write \(\cos(30)=2\cos^2(15)-1\) so can get cos(15) in a similar manner to that of sin(15), and then get tan(15) from sin(15)/cos(15).
