* I use { and } for [ and ] cause otherwise I can't show how this works *

The commands {input} {/input} and {math} {/math} are really helpful if you want your equations to be written in an ordered form.
For example if I want to write x^2 + 3x + 2 = 0 I can instead write
[input]x^2 + 3x + 2 = 0[/input]

Backdraw though is that as you can see it will always immediately give the answer.
Yet it will still save you a lot of trouble in relation to using {sup} and {sub}

And I have already found that it does not agree with me

As an illustration, it can work with irreal numbers;

7*a^2+25 = 6

Yet

(-3)^n = -27

log(-3^n) = log(-27)

log(-3^x) = log(-y)

ln(-27)/ln(-3)

Thanks very much for looking into this Reinout-g.

I hadn't worked out what those buttons did I will totally admit and I am grateful that you showed me but I have never been impressed with the calculator on this site.
It gives some really weird answers sometimes.
A day or 2 ago one of the kids was doing a combination question and this calculator gave a decimal answer.
It is not the first time that I have seen it do things like this.
I think that it was you who told me that you often use this calc and that is how you stumbled into the forum. That really surprised me, I didn't think the calc was very good.

Keep smiling,
Melody.
