Using....rate x time = distance

Let x be the time at 75km/hr

Then, x + 2 is the time at 25km/hr

Then, because the distances are equal, we have

25(x + 2) = 75x   simplify

25x + 50  = 75x

50 = 50x

x = 1     this is the time the car traveled

And its rate times its time gives the distance from A to B =  75km/hr (1 hr)  = 75 km

Note that the distance by bike is 25km/hr(1 + 2)hr = 25(3) = 75 km....just the same !!!
