he table shown represents a function. x f(x) 2 -2.5 3 -2 4 -1.5 5 -1 7 0 What is the equation that represents the function shown?

x 2 3 4 5   7
f(x) -2.5 -2 -1.5 -1   0

When x goes up by 1,   F(x) goes up by a half.

So it is a line with a gradient of 1/2

\(y=\frac{1}{2}x+b\\\)

Sub in one of the points to get b   any point will do   (7,0)

0= half of 7 +b

0=  3.5 +b

b=-3.5

\(y=\frac{1}{2}x-3.5\\ y=0.5x-3.5\\\)

You shoulod sub each of the points in to check that it works.

Also making a table like I did is really easy.  The table button is on the ribbon, just click into it :)
