Reverse PEMDAS to do algebraic equations.

Subtraction

Addition

Division

Multiplication

Exponents

Parentheses

First what we are going to want to do is set h(x) as 0.

0=1/4(x+4)2-3

Now, start with the equation solving process.

Add 3 to both sides.

3=1/4(x+4)2

Multiply by 4 on both sides.

12=(x+4)2

Square root on both sides

\(\sqrt{12}=x+4\)

Subtract 4.

sqrt(12)-4 = -0.5358983848622454

So x=-0.5358983848622454

Sorry, if that's not what you wanted, I may have misread the question.
