the cost, c dollars,to hold a party in a local hall is represented by the number c=100+10n, where n is the number of people attending the party... a) graph the equation . use values of n from 0-100. choose suitible scales. b) determine the cost to hold the party for 50 people. c)determine the number of people who can attend for a cost of $470

a). Here's the graph:

 graph

Because the function is a straight line you only need to calculate two values, say that for n=0 and that for n = 100, plot these then draw a straight line between them.

b).  Just replace n by 50 in 100+10*n

c).  Here replace c by 470 to get:  470 = 100 + 10*n

Subtract 100 from both sides: 370 = 10*n

Divide both sides by 10: 37 = n  (or just n = 37)
