f(x)= 4x-15 g(x)= 6x+31

what value does x have to be when f(x)= g(x)?

Not really sure how to approach this problem so any help would really be appreciated :)

If what you put is true wouldn't 4x-15=6x+31 be your answer?

4x-15 = 6x+31    when they are equal, it is a point of intersection of these two lines ....subtract 4x from both sides to get

-15 = 2x + 31      now subtract 31 from both sides to get

-46 = 2x              now divide both sides by two

x = - 23                      this ould be the x value where   f(x) = g(x)
