How do I find the common ratio in a geometric sequence, if it only gives me not only the first term but other number of terms?

Example: a3= 1/27 and a4= 1/9

(1/9) / (1/27) ==3 - this is the common ratio

(1/27) / 3 ==1 / 81 - this is the 2nd term

(1/81) / 3 ==1 / 243 - this is the 1st term.

Your GP looks like this for the first 10 terms:

1 / 243 , 1 / 81 , 1 / 27 , 1 / 9 , 1 / 3 , 1 , 3 , 9 , 27 , 81 , >>Number of terms = 10>>Total Sum == 29524 / 243
