If the volume of a cone is 133pi units^3, and the height is 12/7, what is the diameter of the base of the cone.
Formula for volume of cone
V = (1/3) p * r^2 * h
So
133 pi = (1/3) pi * r^2 * (12/7) ....divide out pi
133 = (1/3) (12/7) * r^2
133 = (4/7) r^2
(133) ( 7/4) = r^2
232.75 = r^2 ......take the sqrt
15.26 = r
Double this to find the diameter ≈ 30.52
Thank you Cphill! :)
No prob !!!
