you use inverse trig.

For example if
sin(theta)=3/4 then

inverse sine (3/4) = theta

inverse sine (3/4) might look like
sin -1(3/4)
[Don't confuse inverse sine with a power of -1 . It looks the same but it means something completely different.]
or
asin(3/4)

a stands for arc which means the same as inverse

In your calc you probably need to press 2nd function sin to bring up this function.
