The area of the trapezoid ABCD is equal to 60. The length of one of of the bases is 7 units greater than the other base, and the height of trapezoid ABCD is equal to 6. What is the legth of the median of trapezoid ABCD

Area = 60 units2

 

60 =  (b1 + b2)/2 * h

    =  (b +    b+7)/2   * 6

b = 6.5  units

 

 

(6.5 + 13.5)/2 = median = 10 units

Area = height * median

60 = 6 * median

60 / 6 = median
