Find the diameter of a cone that has a volume of 104.67 cubic inches and a height of 4 inches. Use 3.14 for pi.

V (cone)   = ( pi ^ radius^2 * height )  / 3

 

104.67  = (3.14) * (radius)^2 *  4 / 3

 

Multiply both sides by 3  and divide both sides by 3.14

 

104.67 * 3  / 3.14   =  radius^2

 

The left side  evautes  to  ≈  100

 

Taking the square root of both sides  gives that

 

10  =  radius

 

Double this value to  find the  diameter....
