what is the sas property and the sss property when dealing with angles?
As an australian I never taught ASA (although it would work)
I just taught AAS 2 angles and a corresponding side.
so I taught
SAS 2 sides and the included angle
SSS 3 sides
AAS 2 angles and a corresponding side.
and
RHS right angle, hypotenuse and one other side
Those 4 cover all triangle tests of congruency in triangles.
These properties are related to congruent triangles. (triangles that are the same shape and size)
SAS
If two sides are the same length and the angle between them is the same then the triangles are conguent.
Two sides and included angle test of congruency in triangles.
SSS
Three sides test of congruency in triangles.
If 2 triangles have there equal sides then they are congruent trianges. :)
Also....ASA ....Angle-Side-Angle....
The one that we have to be careful with is SSA....This may or may not produce congruent triangles.....as one of my former teachers might say.....Turning this around backwards may prevent you from making an "A*S" of yourself.....!!!
Or, as "Nauseated" might say.....turning it around backwards will help prevent CDD....!!!!
