A man 6 feet tall stands 12 feet away from a 16 foot tall lamp post. How long is the shadow of the man that is cast by the light of the lamp post?

Suppose the shadow x feet
Then 16 : 6 = (12 + x) : x
16x = 6 (12 + x)
16x = 72 + 6x
10x = 72
x = 7,2 feet
