I think this  might be the question :

 

In the figure, angles ABC and AST are right angles. If AC = 35, AT = 11, and BT = 9, then what is AS?

 

AB = AT + BT =  11 + 9  = 20

 

 

Triangle AST  is similar to triangle ABC

AS / AT  =  AB / AC

AS / 11  = 20 / 35

AS = (11 * 20 ) / 35  =   220 / 35  =   44 / 7
