4. Given QRS TUV, QS = 3v+2 and TV = 7v – 6, find the length of QS and TV.

I'm assuming that  QRS  is congruent to TUV

 

Thus...QS  = TV   .... so....

 

3v + 2  =  7v - 6      subtract 3v from both sides, add 6 to both sides

 

8  =  4v      divide both sides by 4

 

2  = v

 

So   QS  =  3(2) + 2  =  8    =  7(2) - 6   =  TV
