We can find that CD = 8 / 2 = 4.
Using pythagorean theorem, (or 30-60-90 triangles) 8^2-4^2= 64 - 16 = 48.
√48 = 4√3 = x.
We can also use 4*√3 = 4√3 = x
Hint: we already know one of the side lengths of the triangle; it's 8. Since it's an equilateral traingle, all of the sides have length 8. Use this along with the area of a triangle formula.
