Baseballs and softballs com in different sizes for different leagues. If the diameter of a baseball is 3 inches and a softball is 3.8 inches, find the difference between the volumes of the two balls. Use 3.14 for pie
4/3 pi r^3 is volume of a sphere usin p = 3.14
softball (the larger of the two) = 4/3 pi (1.9)^3 (make sure you use RADIUS....the Q gives DIAMETER !!!)
4/3 (3.14) (1.9)^3 in3 Use calculator to find volume of softball....
then find the volume of the BASEball the same way except r = 1/2 d = 1.5 inches for baseball
then find the difference between the two ........ difference will be in3 (don't forget units in your answers !)
