the hour hand only moves 360 degrees / 720 min = 1/2 degree per min
2 hrs 50 min = 170 min 170 min * 1/2 degree/min = 85 degrees
so from the minute hand CLOCKWISE to the hour hand is 60 + 85 = 145 degrees
