If the surface area  is   48 pi   square feet, we have

 

48 pi  =    2 pi  * radius  * height     

 

48 pi  =  2 pi  *  3  * height

 

48 pi   = 6 pi   * height         divide both sides by 6 pi

 

8 ft   =   height
