given (-2,5) and (-6,12)

The slope of a line - m - is defined as

chamge in y  /  change in x

And from the first point to the second, y changes by 7

And from the first point to the second, x changes by -4

So....the slope is just  (7 / -4 )  or ( -7 / 4 )
