l  = 1/3 w

perimeter  =   1/3 w   + 1/3 w  + w + w = 24

                        2 2/3 w = 24

                              w = 9     then   l = 3         area = l * w =   27 cm2

\(2(w + \frac{w}{3}) = 24\)

\(\frac{4w}{3} = 12 \)

\(4w = 36 \)

\(w = 9\)

Area = \(9 \cdot \frac{1}{3} (9) = 9 \cdot 3 = 27\)

Area = 27 cm2
