The formula for slope:  m  =  (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

(x1, y1) = (-2, 4)   --->   x1 = -2  and  y1 = 4

(x2, y2) = (2, -2)   --->   x2 = 2  and  y2 = -2

m  =  (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)     --->    m  =  (-2 - 4) / (2 - -2)  =  -6 / 4  =  -3/2
