 #27 specifies: g(x)=2x h(x)=x^2+4

(h°g)(1)  means do y = g(1) first then find h(y).  So:  y = g(1) = 2*1 = 2;  h(y) = 22 + 4 = 8 i.e. (h°g)(1) = 8

Try the same method with the others.  Note that for #30 you need to set y = h(-2), then find g(y).

#28 (h°g)(-5)                 g(x)=x-1  f(x)=2x^+x-3

I am not very familiar with thid type of notation.  But I will give it a go.

h°g = h(g(x))

hang on, there is no h function specified!  There is only a f and a g function!
