rearrange 2x+y =1 into y=-2x+1. So the slope is -2, and since the equation of the line we're solving is parallel to 2x+y, the slope of that equation is also -2.

 

writing it in the form of y=-2x+b, we can substitute -2 for x and 2 for y bc the equation passes through those points. So 2=-4+b. b is 6, so your equation is y=-2x+6.
